history
Trans Anguilla Airways was founded in 1996 as an air taxi company. In 2000, Trans Anguilla Airways founded the subsidiary Gumbs Aircraft Maintenance Limited , becoming the first maintenance company for aircraft on Anguilla to be certified according to FAA quality standards .
Destinations
Trans Anguilla Airways flies from Anguilla from the surrounding Caribbean islands Nevis , Saint Barthelemy , St. Eustatius , St. Kitts , Sint Maarten and Virgin Gorda , and from the latter Tortola planned to. The flights are operated similar to bus routes between the islands. On some routes, Trans Anguilla Airways must perform a touch-and-go due to local regulations . In addition to charter flights available. Trans Anguilla Airways carried out charter flights, sightseeing flights and MedEvac flights for the short-lived Air Montserrat (operating from 2006 to 2007) . Montserrat is problematic for air traffic because of the active Soufrière Hills volcano .

Incidents
In 2008, shortly after a 39-year-old Britten-Norman Islander leased by Air Montserrat ( registration number VP-AAG ) took off from Anguilla airport with destination Sint Maarten, a crash occurred in which the aircraft was irreparably damaged. The pilot and the two passengers were slightly injured.
