history

Buzz was founded in 2000 by KLM UK , a subsidiary of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines , and took over some routes from the former Air UK and its fleet to BAe 146 . Six leased Boeing 737-300s were later added.

Buzz never managed to get into the black and so the company was sold to Ryanair in 2003 for 30 million euros and renamed Buzz Stansted Ltd. renamed, which should continue to operate the routes and aircraft of the former Buzz. Shortly after the takeover, however, many unprofitable routes were suspended and the BAe 146-300 were returned to their respective owners. Buzz was eventually disbanded and fully integrated into Ryanair. The remaining Boeing 737-300s, which for a long time still wore the yellow Buzz color scheme, were phased out by early 2005.

Ryanair announced that from autumn 2019 the Polish subsidiary Ryanair Sun will operate under the “Buzz” brand.
