Silverjet Aviation Limited ceased operations in 2008. The information in italics refer to the last status before the end of operation.

Silverjet was a British airline that only offered business class flights .

history

Silverjet was founded in 2004 by Lawrene Hurt, who then took over the management and held this position until the bankruptcy in spring 2008. First of all, the necessary capital was raised at AIM before the official start of the company could take place in 2006.

In the same year Silverjet took over the British charter company Flyjet and thus had the necessary air operator's certificate and operating license , appropriate route rights and two Boeing 757-200s that were ausgeflottet later, and one Boeing 767-200 .

In autumn 2006, two Boeing 767-200s were initially procured from the British charter company Thomsonfly , which were taken over in March and October of the following year and after the cabin had been fitted with adequate seats and the hulls had been painted.

On January 25, 2007, Silverjet started scheduled services between London 's Luton Airport and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport , initially with a daily connection. A second daily connection was established in September. Finally, in November, Dubai was added to the flight plan.

The company ceased operations on May 30, 2008, but has since been looking for new investors. The talks with a Swiss investment company were the most promising . However, the negotiations failed and the company was liquidated.

Destinations

Silverjet flew to New York thirteen times a week and daily to Dubai. Silverjet operated its own terminal at its home base in London to handle its passengers. The Al Majlis VIP Terminal was used at Dubai International Airport .

fleet

As of April 2007, the Silverjet fleet consisted of three Boeing 767-200s .
