Amber Airways (outside Amberair ) was a short-lived British charter airline based in Cardiff .
history
Amber Airways was founded in the spring of 1988 to take over the flight services of the recently liquidated Airways International Cymru . From May 1988 the company used two leased Boeing 737-200s from Cardiff Airport and Manchester Airport on charter flights within Europe. Amber Airways mainly flew to tourist destinations in Spain, especially Palma de Mallorca Airport .
At the end of November 1988 Amber Airways was taken over by the British airline Paramount Airways and the two Boeing 737s were returned to the lessor.
