DHL Air UK (trading as DHL Air Ltd. under British law ) is a British cargo airline based in the London Borough of Hounslow . Their home base is at East Midlands Airport . It is a subsidiary of Deutsche Post AG .
history
The airline emerged in August 1989 from Elan Air , which was founded in 1982 . Today it is a full subsidiary of Deutsche Post AG and operates scheduled and charter cargo flights in DHL's European network .
DHL Air UK has held a United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority Type A Operating License ( AOC ) since November 30, 2001 to transport passengers, cargo and mail in aircraft with a capacity of 20 or more seats. After receiving the license, flight operations began in December 2001.
