history

Flying Colors Airlines was founded in November 1995 and started operations on March 6th on the Manchester - Arrecife route. The fleet initially consisted of four Boeing 757s , which were used from Manchester and London Gatwick airports . Furthermore, was an Airbus A320 at Glasgow Airport stationed. The flight operations were carried out in close cooperation with the tour operators Sunset Holidays and Club 18-30.

In June 1998, Flying Colors Airlines was bought by the tour operator Sunworld, which is part of the Thomas Cook group. This merged the airline Airworld , which was already part of the company, with the newly acquired Flying Colors Airlines. The latter remained on the outside and began in the winter of 1998/1999 with further charter flights from the airports of Amsterdam and Maastricht / Aachen outside Great Britain .

On September 1, 1999, the Thomas Cook Group merged the two airlines Flying Colors Airlines and Caledonian Airways to form the new company JMC Airlines . Flying Colors Airlines only continued its flight operations under its own name until March 2000. During this time, the Lockheed L-1011 from Caledonian Airways were replaced by another Boeing 757-200 before the brand was finally withdrawn from the market.
