Thomsonfly was a British airline based in Luton . It belonged to the travel company TUI and in 2008 merged with First Choice Airways to form Thomson Airways .

history

The company was founded in 1962 under the name Euravia near Luton . Just two years later, the name changed to Britannia Airways . In 1965 the company was taken over by Thomson Travel (now TUI ).

As part of the standardization of TUI Airlines , the name changed to Thomsonfly in 2005 , corresponding to the British TUI brand name Thomson. Since May 1, 2008 Thomsonfly has operated a joint fleet with First Choice Airways , which has been operating under the new Thomson Airways brand since May 1, 2009 . Flight operations were transferred to the new airline on November 1st.
