Loch Lomond Seaplanes (LLS) is a Scottish airline based in Helensburgh in Argyll and Bute and based at the Cameron House Hotel on Loch Lomond in West Dunbartonshire .

history

Loch Lomond Seaplanes was founded in 2003 by David West. LLS went into service in April 2004 with a new Cessna T206H seaplane with the registration G-OLLS. Beginning commercial operations in 2004, after a long and highly competitive public battle, LLS was granted the right to operate from the newly formed Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. In the early stages of the operation, it emerged that the UK and Europe did not have an aviation framework that would allow large seaplanes to operate on scheduled services. The British Civil Aviation Authority (CAA; German  Civil Aviation Authority ) was approached in 2004, and after extensive work that has been done to a large extent by LLS, the criteria have been published for approved water airfields in of 2006. In June 2007, LLS received the first British Cessna 208 Caravan seaplane with G-MDJE approval. In August 2007, using the new CAA, LLS-inspired aerodrome regulations and involving the maritime and city authorities , Stewart Stevenson , MSP , Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Climate Change, opened the new £ 125,000 Glasgow Seaplane Terminal on the River Clyde and launched the first Scheduled flight to Oban Bay. In April 2008 LLS started again its second line connection from Glasgow to Tobermory Bay on the Isle of Mull . In 2016, the latest Cessna 208 Caravan seaplane with G-LAUD approval was received.
