The Aerodromul Tuzla ( Romanian ) or Aeroportul Utilitar Tuzla is a Romanian airfield in the municipality of Tuzla . It opened in 1958 and was taken over by Regional Air Services in 1999 .

In addition to civilian use, it is also the base of the Romanian Navy's helicopter squadron , the only unit of Romanian naval aviation . It is equipped with IAR-330L .

Incidents

  • On September 20, 1974, an Antonov An-2 had an accident and the pilot lost his life.
  • On July 18, 1976, another Antonov An-2 crashed and the aircraft was totaled.
  • On August 9, 1976, another Antonov An-2 crashed and the crew lost their lives.
  • On November 26th, an Aérospatiale SA-319 crashed on a school flight, the co-pilot lost his life.
  • On June 22, 1981, an Antonov An-2 had an accident.
