The Tuzla International Airport ( Bosnian / Serbian : Aerodrom Tuzla ; English Tuzla International Airport ) is one of four international airports in Bosnia and Herzegovina . It is located south of the city of Tuzla in northern Bosnia .
history
The airport was built in the former Yugoslavia as a military airfield. In 1992 the United Nations took control of the airport and from 1996 it served as a military airfield for SFOR . It was not until October 10, 1998 that the airport was also opened to civil aviation. The new terminal was opened in May 2019, increasing the capacity of the Tuzla airport to 1 million passengers per year.

In German-speaking countries , Basel , Berlin-Schönefeld , Dortmund , Frankfurt-Hahn , Friedrichshafen , Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden , Cologne / Bonn , Memmingen , Salzburg and Vienna are served by Wizz Air .
