No-fly zones for unmanned aircraft

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

No-fly zones for unmanned aircraft or UAVs and for unmanned aerial systems or UAS were newly regulated in Germany with a drone ordinance in April 2017.

Legal basis

The drone ordinance stipulates that any obstruction or danger, as well as the operation of drones or model airplanes in and over sensitive areas is prohibited.

These areas are:

Duty to evade: Unmanned aviation systems and model aircraft are obliged to avoid manned aircraft and unmanned free balloons. The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure has published a brochure for this.

Furthermore, § 21b Paragraph 1 of the Air Traffic Regulations applies : "The operation of unmanned aviation systems and model aircraft is prohibited unless it is carried out by a body named in § 21a Paragraph 2 or under their supervision" (i.e. authorities and organizations with security tasks in connection with emergencies, accidents and disasters).
