The Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna - The Malta Heritage Trust is based on voluntary membership non-governmental organization in Malta , which, like the English National Trust is in the field of historic preservation act. It is financed through membership fees, donations, entrance fees for the monuments managed by the organization and proceeds from services for public and private contractors as well as sponsorship.

The tasks and objectives of Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna include promoting public understanding of the cultural heritage of the Maltese islands and the restoration and restoration of cultural assets. Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna carries out public relations work and provides collections for museums and looks after them. The organization's tasks also include setting up a database of information on the islands' cultural heritage.

The organization is led by a Board of Trustees . This board is currently chaired by Mario Farrugia . The organization is based in Vittoriosa .
