FontShop is a mail-order company for fonts and organizes design conferences ( TYPO Berlin ). In 1989 the trading house was founded by Joan and Erik Spiekermann . FontShops were set up in various countries based on the parent company FSI FontShop International .

The company offers fonts, graphic software and accessories for graphic designers and employees in corporate communications. The FontShop font library is called “FontFont” and includes the fonts FF Dax , FF DIN , FF Meta , FF Quadraat and FF Scala .

The Corporate Font division oversees the technical implementation of corporate design specifications for companies, media outlets and authorities. This includes the creation of house fonts, the modification of fonts, the incorporation of company logos in fonts and the improvement of the screen display of fonts.

FontShop has been organizing the typography and design conference TYPO Berlin since 1995 . Since 2011, “TYPO talks” conferences have been held in London and San Francisco as well as in Berlin .

On July 14, 2014, the US type company Monotype took over FontShop AG for around 13 million US dollars .
