The Ford River is a river in the northeast of the Australian state of Tasmania .
geography
The river has its source on the southern slopes of Legges Tor , a mountain in the north of Ben Lomond National Park , around 43 km east of Launceston . From there it flows first to the northwest to about three kilometers east of the small town of Upper Blessington . Then it turns its course to the west, flows through the city and flows about two kilometers further west into the North Esk River .
