Form master

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Formmeister was the title of the leading teacher responsible for design in the workshops of the State Bauhaus in Weimar . The position corresponded to that of a professor at other art colleges and academies. In each of the apprenticeship workshops , the form foremen had a foreman to assist them with the technical training of the students.

From 1926, the form masters at the Bauhaus, which had moved to Dessau in 1925 , were also called professors, as at other comparable training institutions.

This school teaching title should not be confused with the advanced training occupation former master (see Former ) in the foundry trade , which is also called master former in older literature .
