The Forns Wood Warbler ( Teretistris fornsi ) is a small songbird from the genus Teretistris in the family Teretistridae. The distribution area is in the east of Cuba . The IUCN lists this species as "not endangered" (least concern).

features

Forns wood warbler reach a body length of 13 centimeters. The wing length is 5 to 6 centimeters in the male and 5,3 to 5,8 centimeters in the female. Adult Forns warbler and young birds from the first year on have a medium-gray crown, nape, nape and upper side plumage with a faint olive-brown tint. The wings are blackish gray with medium gray feather edges. The tail is also blackish-gray with medium-gray feather edges. The reins and ear-covers as well as the throat, chest and upper abdomen are yellow; slightly paler yellow on the lower abdomen. The eye ring is more yellow and clearly stands out. The rear flanks are gray, the under-tail-coverts grayish-white. The blackish-gray beak is slightly longer than that of the closely related species of the yellow-headed wood warbler ( Teretistris fernandinae ). The legs are bluish-gray.

Occurrence

Forns wood warbler occurs in all forest types with a lot of undergrowth and in thickets in the east of the island state of Cuba, from above sea level up to the mountainous regions.
