Research Mile
The researcher mile is a five-part memorial in Bremerhaven .
Location and purpose
The five COR-TEN steel plates are on the north side of the main canal, between the trading port and the swing bridge over the Geestemünder main canal . With display boards , QR codes and cut out outlines, they are reminiscent of men who achieved extraordinary achievements in hydraulic engineering , shipbuilding , rocket technology , deep-sea fishing and polar research and who were of great importance for the maritime history of Bremerhaven. The project was conceived by Erlebniskontor GmbH for BIS Bremerhaven Society for Investment Promotion and Urban Development mbH .
