The Fossil Hill is a low hill on the Fildes Peninsula of King George Iceland , the largest of the South Shetland Islands . The 107 meter high hill extends about one and a half kilometers west of the isthmus of Ardley Island in an east-west direction.
After the hill under this name since the 1980s regularly in Brazilian, Chilean and Chinese geological mentioned literature, the British announced Antarctic Place-names Committee (APC) the name in 2001 to the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research, SCAR ).
