The Fossil Wood Point is a headland in East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . In the Aramis Range of the Prince Charles Mountains , it lies between Bainmedart Cove and the rest of Radok Lake .
Australian geologist Alex Medvecky was the first to visit this headland between January and February 1969 as part of a reconnaissance team for the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions to the Prince Charles Mountains. It received its name in 1971 from the Antarctic Names Committee of Australia based on the tree fossils found there .
