Franconian Wonderland is an amusement park near Plech in Upper Franconia . The park is located directly on the A 9 between Bayreuth and Nuremberg and can be reached via the Plech exit.

The park is currently closed for renovation. There are contradicting statements about a reopening.

history

The park has grown steadily since it opened at Pentecost 1976. From the beginning it was expanded and expanded again and again. Over the years, three subject areas have emerged: the fairy tale forest, a western town and an action area. Babyland is a special feature for children up to six years of age.

The first roller coaster came to the park in 1993 and is called the Kansas City Express. Since 1996/1997 there are several new attractions: the climbing mountain “Himalaya”, a chain carousel, a kite tower with slides, and the electric shooting range “Golden Colts Saloon”.

In 2001, for the 25th anniversary, a Ferris wheel equipped with western gondolas was added. Further innovations followed in 2003: the giant trampoline “Seerosenteich” and “Treasure hunt”. In addition, a sling-shot facility was opened in 2004, which was in the park until 2011. In 2007 a 3000 m² game and action hall was opened. As part of the Bayern Tour Natur, there has also been a berry spinner for children since 2010. In 2012, the water bomb thrower "WaterShots" for children and adults was created in the western town in place of the former sling shot.

In 2014, the park remained closed for the entire season and some rides were dismantled. A new opening originally planned for the 2015 season was not realized. The park was opened for individual events from September 2016. There are still plans to maintain the facility. ^[outdated]
