Frédéric Berger (born August 27, 1964 ) is a former French ski jumper .

Career

Berger started on December 30, 1983 as part of the opening event for the Four Hills Tournament 1983/84 in Oberstdorf in the Ski Jumping World Cup . In the first two years in the World Cup, he only started in the Four Hills Tournament. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 1985 in Seefeld in Tirol , Berger reached 58th place on the normal hill and 41st place on the large hill. In his first World Cup competition after the World Championship, he reached 3rd place on December 22, 1985 in Chamonix, his first and only podium of his career. In addition, with this 3rd place he was able to win his first World Cup points. In the end, he finished 40th in the overall World Cup ranking. The following two seasons Berger only achieved placements in midfield. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1987 in Oberstdorf, he reached 39th place on the normal as well as on the large hill. after the world championship he was able to win World Cup points again in Lahti with an 8th and an 11th place.

Berger ended his active ski jumping career with the start of the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary . He reached 49th place on the normal hill.
