Frédéric Hainard (born November 23, 1975 , resident in Les Bayards ) is a Swiss politician ( Nouveau Parti Libéral , formerly FDP ).

biography

Hainard graduated from the Gymnase scientifique in La Chaux-de-Fonds and obtained a licentiate in law from the University of Neuchâtel and was admitted to the bar .

Before taking office in 2009 as the State Councilor of the Canton of Neuchâtel , he held various municipal political offices. On August 23, 2010, he announced his resignation from the government at the end of October for alleged nepotism and abuse of office. On January 25, 2011, Parliament lifted Hainard's immunity. There were several criminal investigations against him. A parliamentary commission of inquiry came to the conclusion in its final report that Hainard had abused his office and displayed corrupt behavior.

Hainard has been a member of the La Chaux-de-Fonds town council again since May 13, 2012, and was elected to the list of the Nouveau parti libéral (New Liberal Party ), which he himself founded for the occasion . However, his candidacy for the Grand Council in the cantonal elections in April 2013, with which he wanted to return to the cantonal political stage, remained unsuccessful .

He is married with two children and lives in La Chaux-de-Fonds .
