The Apogastropoda ( old Greek ἀπό = from, of it; old Greek γαστήρ = belly, stomach; Greek πόδι = leg, foot) form a taxon in the systematics of biology (mollusks, snails). It unites the phylogenetic sister groups of the Caenogastropoda and Heterobranchia .
The taxon was made known in 1987. In the system of Ponder & Lindberg (1997) it is represented as a subclass of the subclass of Orthogastropoda . In the system of Bouchet & Rocroi (2005) the taxon is omitted again.
description
The gastropoda belonging to this taxon have branched tentacle-like nerves and two connecting strands.
Systematics
According to Ponder & Lindberg (1997) the Caenogastropoda and Heterobranchia form sister groups in the phylogenetic system and were combined to form the Monophylum Apogastropoda.
The Apogastropoda are classified in the taxonomy of Ponder & Lindberg (1997) as follows:
-
Subclass Orthogastropoda (Real Snails), WF Ponder & DR Lindberg, 1996
-
Subclass Apogastropoda , L. Salvini-Plawen & G. Haszprunar , 1987
-
Superorder Caenogastropoda , Cox, 1960
- Order Architaenioglossa , Haller, 1890
- Order Sorbeoconcha , WF Ponder & DR Lindberg, 1997
-
Superorder Heterobranchia (Diverse-Kiemer), JE Gray, 1840
- Order Heterostropha (different-Dreher), PH Fischer, 1885
- Order Opisthobranchia (hind gill snails), A. Milne-Edwards, 1848
- Order Pulmonata (lung snails), G. Cuvier in HMD de Blainville, 1814
-
Superorder Caenogastropoda , Cox, 1960
-
Subclass Apogastropoda , L. Salvini-Plawen & G. Haszprunar , 1987
In the more recent taxonomy by Bouchet & Rocroi (2005) , however, the taxon of the Apogastropoda is no longer used. It is considered obsolete due to molecular biological reasons.
