Frédéric Nihous [ fʀedeʀik niˈus ] (born August 15, 1967 in Valenciennes ) is chairman of the French party Chasse, pêche, nature, traditions and was a candidate for the French presidential election in 2007 .

biography

Nihous was born in Valenciennes and is the son of a dentist. He studied law in Lille . In 2002 he led Jean Saint-Josse's campaign for the French presidential election at the time , which won 4.23% of the vote in the first ballot.

On September 2, 2006, at a meeting of his party in Cerny , Essonne , Nihous was elected candidate for the 2007 French presidential election by 82.95% of the delegates . On March 16, 2007, he announced that he had reached 655, more than the 500 signatures required to run for the presidential election. Three days later, on March 19, Nihous was included in the list of twelve official candidates for the presidential election by the Conseil constitutionnel .

In the first round of the presidential election on April 22, 2007, Nihous received 420,645 votes, which is 1.15% of the valid votes cast.

Nihous has been the chairman of his party since 2008.
