Frösslundamossen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Frösslundamossen is a moor on the Swedish island of Öland in the Baltic Sea .

The moor, which also has open water areas, is located south of the village of Frösslunda . The barren Stora Alvaret borders in the west . The water flows in from the north, with the water mainly coming from Möckelmossen to the west . On the east side is the drain in the Frösslundabäcken . Here lies a moraine ridge that hinders the drainage of the water and thus led to the formation of the moor. There is a small forest on parts of the moraine.

The west bank is dominated by Kleinseggenriede and wet meadows . On the east bank there are reeds , stiff sedge and willow bushes. At the inlet and outlet there are dense stands of the finger bush . Montagu's harrier , black tern and various types of ducks are typical of the fauna .
