Ask Mutti is a guidebook website which, according to its own statements, is mainly, but not only, aimed at bachelors who are not entirely sure about their own housekeeping.

founding

The website's founders and operators are Bernhard Finkbeiner and Hans-Jörg Brekle . The founders of the website said they wanted to prepare a meal in the summer of 2003. But the two students didn't know how to prepare boiled potatoes. Brekle then called his mother to ask her about it. After the call, they both agreed that they had too little knowledge of housekeeping. The two then decided to create a website that can be used to exchange tips. Finkbeiner created the website within a month.

Frag-Mutti.de is divided into eight main sections: Cooking and baking, drinks, cleaning, washing, saving, family and health, house and garden, miscellaneous. These are in turn divided into many sub-categories and contain countless tips about household, everyday life and leisure. The editors and the operators themselves write tips. Tips from everyone who can give tried and tested advice are also in demand. The editors reserve the right to review submitted tips and photos according to defined criteria and to publish them on the website.

After the success of the website, the two founders decided to develop Frag-Vati.de , a website that takes care of home improvement problems as well as jobs, well-groomed appearance, leisure and technology, money and finances. The website was later integrated into frag-mutti.de. Over 20,000 people visit the website every day (as of 2012). The visitor record was on December 23, 2015 with almost 45,000 clicks.

From the website, advice books emerged that were sold around 100,000 times.

Bernhard Finkbeiner is a co-founder of the online consulting platform yourXpert , on which advice seekers can get advice from experts for a fee.

Since 2004 Bernhard Finkbeiner and Hans-Jörg Brekle have been interviewed or mentioned by newspapers and online media from Germany, Austria and Switzerland (e.g. the Südwest Presse , Westfälische Rundschau , Bild , Stuttgarter Nachrichten or Spiegel Online ) or have been on radio and TV - To see broadcasts, including on Stern TV or in the portrait of Netzmenschen on ZDFneo .
