Questions to the author

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Questions to the Author is one of the oldest German-language non - fiction programs . It has been produced by Saarländischer Rundfunk since 1969 and broadcast live on Sundays from 9:04 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Up to and including February 27, 2003 it ran on SR 1 Europawelle , since then on SR 2 Kulturradio . From January 2010 to February 2014, the broadcast was also broadcast live by DRadio Wissen .

For each program, a non-fiction book, the subject of which can range from politics and business to health and education , is presented in a joint conversation with the author. Listeners have the opportunity to speak directly over the phone and via e-mail with questions to the author to appeal. In the blog  about the broadcast, questions are also answered afterwards. Book prizes will be raffled among the callers.

There is also a public event several times a year.

Jürgen Albers was the moderator from 1981 to the end of March 2017 . His successor as editor is Kai Schmieding. The moderation of the show has changed since then.

In addition to the podcast of the current program, there is another offer that allows a selection of historical issues to be heard again, the so-called “classic feed”.
