François-Joseph de Champagny
Franz de Champagny (actually Francois Joseph Marie Thérèse Nompère de Champagny, marquis de Cadore ), (born September 8, 1804 in Vienna , † May 4, 1882 in Paris ) was a French historian and publicist .
Life
Champagny was the third son of Jean-Baptiste Nompère de Champagny and worked for the Ami de la religion and the Correspondant . Champagny was one of the founders of the Revue contemporaine and was elected a member of the Académie française in 1869 .

- His main work is the "Histoire des Césars" (1841–43, 4 vol .; 2nd ed. 1853), the continuations of which under the titles: "Les Antonins" (1863, 3 vol .; 2nd ed. 1866) and " Les Césars du III. Siècle "(1870 and more often, 3 vols.) Published.
