François-Joseph de Champagny

Franz de Champagny (actually Francois Joseph Marie Thérèse Nompère de Champagny, marquis de Cadore ), (born September 8, 1804 in Vienna , † May 4, 1882 in Paris ) was a French historian and publicist .

Life

Champagny was the third son of Jean-Baptiste Nompère de Champagny and worked for the Ami de la religion and the Correspondant . Champagny was one of the founders of the Revue contemporaine and was elected a member of the Académie française in 1869 .
