François-Xavier Badoud

François-Xavier Badoud (born August 22, 1792 in Romont ; † November 19, 1852 there ) was a Swiss politician and notary . From 1848 to 1851 he was a member of the National Council.

biography

The son of a notary attended law school at the St. Michael College in Freiburg . Badoud was granted a notary's license in 1823 and practiced this profession for the next three decades. From 1817 to 1851 he also worked as a state collector in Romont, in 1848 as administrator of the mortgage governor and chief magistrate of the Glane district .

Badoud was considered a moderate radical and was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Friborg in 1848. In the first National Council elections in the same year, he was initially defeated by the liberal-conservative candidate Hubert Charles ; however, his election was canceled due to alleged irregularities, so that Badoud won the second ballot without opposition. He remained on the National Council until 1851 and on the Grand Council until his death.
