François Antoine de Bruycker
François Antoine de Bruycker (born April 18, 1816 in Ghent , † November 3, 1882 in Antwerp ) was a Belgian genre and still life painter.
De Bruycker studied at the Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten Gent and continued his studies with Ferdinand de Braekeleer the Elder in Antwerp in 1837 .
After graduating, he stayed in Antwerp as a freelance genre and still life painter.
In 1845 he won a gold medal in Brussels for the painting "The Lace Maker". From 1851 to 1868 he took part in the Paris Salon . He contributed to the Antwerp Salon in 1861 and 1864. He was also represented at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1878 .
His painting "The Suspicion" was acquired in 1842 by King Wilhelm I of Württemberg . “The old gardener” was bought in 1857 by the Grand Duchess of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach Maria Pawlowna .
