Jean-François Barrière

Jean-François Barrière (born May 12, 1786 in Paris , † August 22, 1868 ) was a French writer and historian.

Barrière joined the offices of the Seine prefecture at the age of 18 and soon made it to the position of head of division. As a result of the revolution of 1848 he was retired. His biography of Madame Roland , a proponent of the French Revolution , was published in 1827 by Honoré de Balzac . Another biography of him deals with General Charles-François Dumouriez .

Together with Saint-Albin Berville (1788–1868) he published de Collection des mémoires relatifs à la révolution française , a collection of memoirs relating to the French Revolution.
