François Hadji-Lazaro (born June 22, 1956 in Paris ) is a French actor , musician , singer and producer .

Life

Lazaro was born in modest circumstances, where he became interested in music from an early age. Through the music of Bob Dylan he came to the guitar, which he learned self-taught. He can also play traditional instruments such as the accordion, bagpipes, banjo, violin, harp and ukulele autodidactically. Since 1987 he has been active as a musician in the French band Pigalle. In addition to his musical career, he played supporting roles in films in which primarily his physical appearance is decisive. For example, in the films of famous directors like Caro ( The City of Lost Children ) and Jean-Pierre Jeunet .

In Germany, he became known to a wider audience through his role of the moronic cemetery assistant Gnaghi in the horror film Dellamorte Dellamore , at the side of Rupert Everett .
