François-Joseph Modesto (born August 19, 1978 in Bastia ) is a French football player . The defender is currently under contract with SC Bastia .
Career
Modesto began his professional career in 1997 in his hometown at SC Bastia . There he played for two seasons before moving to the Italian club Cagliari Calcio in 1999 . This he remained faithful for five years and played in both the Serie A , and in the series B . At the beginning of the 2005/06 season he moved back to France for AS Monaco . There the defensive all-rounder had a contract until 2010. This contract was not extended, so he moved to Olympiacos . In the 2010/11 season he won the Greek championship for the first time in his career with Olympiacos. After further titles in Greece, the Frenchman moved to his old club SC Bastia in the summer of 2013.
