François Silvant

François Silvant (born October 15, 1949 in Lausanne , † June 14, 2007 there ) was a Swiss cabaret artist .

Silvant played theater from 1970 , from 1983 he developed his solo programs. His last solo program was "Mes plantes vertes sont magnifiques", with which he was very successful in western Switzerland .

Through the TV series Le petit Silvant illustré , in which he played around 40 different people, Silvant was extremely well-known and popular in western Switzerland. In 2006, in a poll by the Swiss Sunday newspaper Le Matin Dimanche, he was voted the third most popular French-speaking Swiss, behind figure skater Stéphane Lambiel and journalist Jean-Philippe Rapp .

In June 2007, Silvant died of cancer in Lausanne .
