Françoise Benoît-Fresco is a production designer .

Life

Benoît-Fresco began her film staff career in 1985 as assistant production designer on Terry Gilliam's black comedy Brazil . In the same year she worked for the first time as a production designer for Claude Chabrol's crime film Chicken in Vinegar . From this a long-term cooperation developed; until 2009 she worked on twelve of his films, including Eine Frauensache , Betty and The Color of Lies , as well as his television series Inspektor Lavardin . She has also worked for other prominent directors such as Luc Besson and Brian DePalma .

For Roland Joffé's Vatel they had in common with Jean Rabasse 2001 for the Oscar in the category Best Art Direction nominated, but the award went this year to Tiger, Hidden Dragon .
