Live and act

Francesco Eredi's dates of birth are not precisely established. The data of the assumed date of birth in sources are named October 10, 1575 and January 8, 1581, with 1575 being considered more likely due to Eredi's later work, which can only be proven in his hometown. In 1599 he taught as a music master for a short time at the seminary in Ravenna. His first book of madrigals was published in 1600. From 1621 he led the orchestra of the Metropolitan Church and was also involved in the musical design of various church festivals (including the churches of San Romualdo and San Giovanni Evangelista ) as well as secular festivities in the city. In 1623 he published a collection of psalms dedicated to Cardinal Luigi Capponi and in the same year was appointed Maestro di cappella at the Cathedral of Ravenna. The high point of his career was his appointment as Maestro di capella of Ravenna in 1629. Between 1630 and 1636 he also taught singing and organ playing at the Abbey of Sant'Apollinare , where he was also responsible for the musical design. Nothing is known about the circumstances and the exact year of his death.
