Francesco Maria da Camporosso

Francesco Maria da Camporosso (civil Giovanni Croese ; born December 27, 1804 in Camporosso, Italy , † September 17, 1866 in Genoa , Italy) was an Italian Capuchin . He is venerated as a saint in the Roman Catholic Church .

Francesco entered the Capuchin Order in 1825 . In the convent of the Capuchins of Genoa he was active in collecting alms and in the kitchen, but also took care of the sick. Even during his lifetime, the population called him “the holy father”.

Pope Pius XI Father Maria da Camporosso beatified in 1929, and canonized in 1962 by Pope John XXIII.
