Francesco Pepe

Francesco Pepe (* 1968 in Olten , Switzerland ) is an Italian astronomer .

From 1992 Pepe studied physics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich . As part of his doctoral thesis, he developed a well into the infrared -range spectrometer , which was mounted on a balloon. In 1998 he went to Geneva to continue his research. There he works on the HARPS project, which has been running since October 2003.

At the Geneva observatory, he is currently responsible for coordinating several projects.
