Francis Edmund Boateng

Francis Edmund Boateng (* 17th December 1923 in Nsuta , Ashanti Region , Ghana ) is a Ghanaian diplomat in retirement . In 1950 he married Esther Christina Amoo Gottfried. They have three daughters and two sons.

education

From 1940 he studied at the Prince of Wales College, Achimota, from 1946 to 1948 in the Post Secondary College, Prince of Wales College, Achimota. From 1950 to 1957 he went to universities, from 1950 to 1952 at the University College of the Gold Coast. For the next four years he was an administrative officer in the colonial administration of the Gold Coast (colony) in 1956 . From 1956 to 1957 he studied at the University of London, England.

In 1960 he was first secretary at the Ghana High Commission in New Delhi . From 1960 to 1962, Boateng headed the Eastern Europe and the Middle East Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Accra. From 1962 to 1966 he was general secretary in the Accra Assembly. In 1969 he was a member of the constituent assembly in Ghana. From 1972 to 1978 he was permanent representative at the UN headquarters and at the same time as High Commissioner (Commonwealth) in Kingston ( Jamaica ), Port of Spain ( Trinidad and Tobago ) and accredited as Ambassador to Havana ( Cuba ). In 1978 he was ambassador in Copenhagen .
