Francis Norman (* 1988 in Kiel ) is a German viola and violin player and composer who mainly plays jazz and pop music.

At the age of five he received his first violin lessons from Ingo Hirsekorn in Kiel. In 1998 he switched to the Mönchengladbach music school. There he was tutored by Joachim Reiser, M. Kojama and Harald Stöpfgeshoff. From 2003 he began to take piano lessons with the jazz pianist Klaus Delvos. In addition to violin and viola, Norman also plays guitar, piano, clarinet and saxophone. He also has compositions for string orchestra. In 2007 he was the first prize winner at the “ Jugend jazztcompetition in Dortmund. He studied jazz and popular music as well as instrumental pedagogy at the ArtEZ Conservatory in Arnhem and obtained his bachelor's degree in summer 2013.

Musical career

Francis Norman worked in various TV productions, including a. TV shows, gives concerts at home and abroad, played the string parts in several CD productions. Since 2010 he has accompanied various pop groups on their tours through Germany and abroad, e. B. Ich + Ich and Düsseldorf's Stefan Honig with his band on his China tour.
