Francis Valentine Allen

Francis Valentine Allen (born June 25, 1909 in Toronto , † October 7, 1977 ) was a Canadian clergyman and auxiliary bishop in Toronto .

Life

Allen was ordained a priest on June 25, 1933. On July 2, 1954, Pope Pius XII appointed him . the titular bishop of Avensa and auxiliary bishop in Toronto . He was ordained bishop by the Archbishop of Toronto, James Charles McGuigan , with the assistance of Joseph Anthony O'Sullivan , Bishop of Kingston and Benjamin Ibberson Webster , Bishop of Peterborough , on October 7, 1954. He attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
