Francisco Carmelo Camet (born September 16, 1876 in Buenos Aires , † July 15, 1931 in Miramar ) also known as Eduardo Camet was an Argentine fencer .
biography
Francisco Camet, who studied in Paris, was the only athlete from Argentina to take part in the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris . Thus he is considered the first Argentine Olympian . In epee fencing , he was able to advance to the finals and was fifth in the overall standings.
Four years later, his son Carmelo Camet was born, who also began fencing and won a bronze medal with the team at the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928 .
