The Evangelical Lutheran Church Lothra is in Lothra , a district of Drognitz in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district of Thuringia . The parish of Lothra is part of the Drognitz parish in the Rudolstadt-Saalfeld parish of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The hall church has a retracted choir, which goes back to the Romanesque church , on which the choir tower rises. The nave was rebuilt around 1701 . In 1834 the church was renovated and the side chapels were demolished. The nave is covered with a slate pitched roof. The tower has an eight-sided tower with the tower clock and the bell chamber . A bulbous hood sits on top of it, crowned by a lantern .

The interior has galleries and is spanned by a flat ceiling. The church furnishings include a pulpit altar from the beginning of the 18th century. The organ with 6 registers , divided into a manual and a pedal , was built in 1880 by Carl Friedrich Zillgitt.
