Francisco Craveiro Lopes
Francisco Higino Craveiro Lopes [ fɾɐ̃ˈsiʃku iˈʒinu kɾɐˈvɐiɾu ˈlɔpɨʃ ] (born April 12, 1894 in Lisbon ; † September 2, 1964 ibid) was a Portuguese general and from 1951 to 1958 President.
The military was the 122nd Governor General of Portuguese India from 1929 to 1936 . In 1939 he became Commander in Chief of the Air Force . Craveiro Lopes, who was appointed President of Portugal by the dictatorial Prime Minister António de Oliveira Salazar , soon came into conflict with Salazar and was replaced by Américo Tomás in 1958 . Craveiro Lopes is said to have been implicated in the failed coup by Júlio Botelho Moniz in 1961. He died in Lisbon on September 2, 1964.
