Francisco Javier Chica Torres (born May 17, 1985 in Barcelona ) is a Spanish football player .

Francisco Javier Chica is one of Espanyol Barcelona's many homegrown children , who almost exclusively do without expensive international transfers and prefer to focus on their own youth. This is how Chica's career so far reads. Born in Barcelona, he went through all of Espanyol's youth teams before joining the first team in 2006. He and his team made it to the 2007 UEFA Cup final and was part of the regular staff during this time.

In the summer of 2011, however, his expiring contract was not extended. He therefore signed with the Spanish second division club Betis Sevilla .

He can also look back on a number of deployments in the U-19 and U-20 in his country.
