Juan Francisco Palencia Hernández (born April 28, 1973 in Mexico City ) is a retired Mexican soccer player . He was a midfielder as well as a striker . Since 2007 he played for UNAM Pumas in Mexico, where he also retired in spring 2012.
He made his debut for the Mexican national football team in 1996 against Bolivia . In the same year he played with the Mexican Olympic team at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta . He also took part in the Gold Cup in 1996, 1998 and 2003 and in the 2002 World Cup.
At club level he won the Mexican football championship three times with the Cruz Azul CD in the winter of 1997 and with the UNAM Pumas in the Clausura 2009 and the Clausura 2011 .
