Francisco Pavón Barahona (born January 9, 1980 in Madrid ) is a Spanish football player on the position of central defender .

Career

At the beginning of his career he always wanted to be a striker because Marco van Basten was his idol at the time. When he became a defender, however, he took Hierro , the living legend of the Madrilenians, as a model. Pavon has played in all of Real Madrid's youth teams since 1990 , so it has always been a dream of his to play for the pros.

Due to injuries to several regular players in the first team, he made his debut for the professionals on October 6, 2001 under the then coach Vicente del Bosque (2-0 win against Athletic Bilbao ). He took the opportunity and was integrated into the 1st team a few months later.

After a total of six years and 106 league games for Real Madrid, Pavón moved to Real Saragossa in the summer of 2007 on a free transfer . In his first season he was hardly used and rose with the club at the end of the season in the Segunda División . After the immediate resurgence, he played with Saragossa for a year in the Primera División before moving to AC Arles-Avignon in the French Ligue 1 .
