Francisco Sebastián Carvajal (born December 9, 1870 in Campeche , † September 20, 1932 in Mexico City ) was a Mexican lawyer and politician who was briefly President of Mexico from July 15 to August 13, 1914 .

Life

Carvajal was a lawyer and held important positions in the administration of Mexico during the presidency of Porfirio Díaz . Under the dictatorial ruling President Victoriano Huerta he rose to the position of foreign minister and succeeded Huerta in the presidency after his resignation on July 15, 1914. On August 13, 1914, he was replaced by Venustiano Carranza , a representative of the anti-Huerta coalition, and left the country. In 1922 he returned to Mexico City and worked as a lawyer again. He died in Mexico City in 1932.
