Francisco Urcuyo Maliaños
Francisco Urcuyo Maliaños (born July 30, 1915 in Rivas , † September 14, 2001 in Managua ) was a Nicaraguan politician and vice-president of his country from 1967 to 1972.
On July 17 and 18, 1979, he was the incumbent President of Nicaragua for 43 hours. After dictator Anastasio Somoza Debayle had already left the country during the Nicaraguan Revolution , Francisco Urcuyo became President of the Republic as President of Congress according to the constitution. After Urcuyo had also left the country , the government junta led by the Sandinista took over the government for national reconstruction .
