Franco Giorgio Cagnotto (born June 2, 1947 in Turin ) is a former Italian high diver and five-time Olympic participant.

Franco Giorgio Cagnotto competed for the first time at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo . There he was 10th in artificial jumping and 23rd in the tower. Just four years later, at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City , he improved to fifth in artificial jumping and 8th in the tower. He had his most successful Olympic competition at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich with silver in jumping and bronze from the tower. At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal he was able to repeat his success in jumping and won silver again. He won again bronze in this discipline at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow .

Cagnotto was always in the shadow of his compatriot Klaus Dibiasi , who was more successful than him at the 1964 to 1976 Olympic Games. In 1981 he ended his career as an art and high diver. In 1992 he was inducted into the international swimming sport hall of fame .

In 1985 his daughter Tania was born, who is also a successful Italian high diver and is trained by him. Cagnotto lives with his wife Carmen Casteiner (also a successful high diver) in Bolzano .
